An image of tomorrow as a task for today
For a little over two years, experts from the fields of politics, administration, economy, culture, tourism, labour and the media were concerned with identifying possibilities and conditions for the development of a strong and successful CENTROPE Region. More than 200 experts from all disciplines contributed their know-how and ideas to this development process, discussed and condensed their input into common perspectives.
In this way, it was possible to highlight a development perspective endorsed by all stakeholders in the form of “Vision CENTROPE 2015”. This is an ambitious, far-reaching and yet realistic vision for intensive cooperation. It offers answers to key questions that require cooperative solutions to ensure that the Central European Region will truly grow together and develop on the solid grounding of a partnership between equals. The vision outlines a cross-border region that recognises its special responsibility towards the young generation and hence faces the challenge of evolving CENTROPE into a cosmopolitan and tolerant economic and living space where European integration becomes a self-confident and successful everyday reality at the interface of “old” and “new” EU Member States.
Since 2006, the Vision CENTROPE 2015 has served as the basis for the deepening of cooperation in the Central European Region.
