Information & communication technology in CENTROPE

The Centrope countries show a remarkable potential in the field of digital technologies. As though many cluster activities already exist, there is still a lot to expect when stakeholders manage to overcome the remaining mental and physical barriers caused by country borders and allow cooperation structures to unfold their full potential. Centrope’s ICT potential consists of about 5,000 ICT companies with more than 10 employees, employing about 350,000 specialists. About 60 universities and research organisations run ICT relevant institutes and departments, employing 36,000 researchers. Within the project “CENTROPE ICT technology transfer” (CITT) a 3 years action plan has been developed including all necessary steps to be taken to establish an ICT Cluster CENTROPE. Based on this results our long-term objective is to actualize the vision of an ICT Cluster CENTROPE.
